Director, the Acousti-Cats
The Acousti-Cats open their next show with “It’s Ukulele Time’’ written by Riderwood resident Sharon Hawkins. The short parody is based on the kids’ show theme, “It’s Howdy Doody Time.” The ukuleles will be strumming songs about time in the newly renovated Encore Theater on Tuesday, October 22, at 7:30 p.m.
They have a special sing-along tour of the whole day ranging from “Oh What a Beautiful Morning,” the opening song from Oklahoma! by Rodgers and Hammerstein, to “Walkin’ After Midnight” by Alan Block and Donn Hecht. “Time in a Bottle” and “It’s Been a Long, Long Time” are two popular love songs mentioning time. Of course, the program includes “Rock Around the Clock” with Walter Kraus playing both the bass and the harmonica.
Mark your calendar for October 22 so you will remember to join in for the free sing-along program. You’ll be sure to have a great time singing or just listening to a lot of favorites.
