The Performing Arts Council is sponsoring a concert of brass music featuring the New Brass Quintet. The concert is at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 16 in the Riderwood Chapel with the doors opening at 7:00 p.m.
The New Brass Quintet was formed in 2014 by a group of brass enthusiasts to explore the rich variety of music repertoire composed for the brass quintet.
The New Brass Quintet’s standard instrumentation represents the brass section of a symphony orchestra that was established in the mid-20th century and consists of two trumpets, French horn, trombone and tuba.
The members of the ensemble bring an extensive, rich professional background, both nationally and internationally, to the group.
The concert will consist of a variety of musical styles that include arrangements of music from the baroque era, Broadway, and jazz, and will also feature original works.
Tickets are $5.00 and will be sold in all dining room lobbies from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 12 and Tuesday, August 13.
