Remembering the victims of the Holocaust

By Sidney Kirschner

Member, Riderwood Jewish Community

On Friday, May 10, the Riderwood Jewish Community will commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day, also known as Yom HaShoah. Observed this year on May 2, this modern Jewish holiday honors the memory of the six million Jews who perished during the Holocaust.

Currently, there are 16 Holocaust survivors living at Riderwood. Please join our Riderwood Holocaust survivors for our Sabbath Evening Worship Service in the Chapel at 7:30 p.m. on May 10. Rabbi Stan Levin will focus on the message of the Holocaust, and some of the survivors will have specific roles during the Service.
