Mark your calendars for the GraceNotes spring concert! Two performances will be given, both in the Riderwood Chapel: Thursday, May 16, at 7:30 p.m. and Friday, May 17, at 3:30 p.m.  Doors open a half hour before the concerts. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted; and amounts over the GraceNotes’ operating costs are donated to the Riderwood Benevolent Care Fund.

Our program this spring includes pieces from various genres, including Broadway, The Great American Song Book, German Lieder, German “Fairy Tale” opera, and folk songs from Ireland, Wales, and Appalachia. Featured composers include Thomas Wright “Fats” Waller, George and Ira Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Robert Schumann, and Engelbert Humperdinck. Also featured will be the first movement of Charles-Marie Widor’s Organ Symphony No. 6, played on the chapel organ.

The GraceNotes, Riderwood’s women’s chorus, presents two concerts a year, one in the spring and one for the winter holidays. The GraceNotes are directed by William Wisnom and accompanied by Elizabeth White. Residents interested in joining should contact Elizabeth d’Entremont,
