Donating your time and talents to Intermissions

By Rita Clarke

Coordinator, Intermissions Program

Hello and Happy New Year to everyone from the Intermissions Program! It’s been far too long since you’ve heard from us. It’s hard to believe that the Intermissions Program was launched in 2013.

Intermissions is an ongoing program for our residents who are experiencing memory challenges. We meet Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Looking back on our time here in the community, we have cherished many warm and special relationships we’ve formed with the residents and families of our program. So many have come and gone in six years, but they will always remain in our hearts.

We want to thank all the families, past and present, for your unwavering support of Intermissions. It is an honor to serve this beautiful population, and we sincerely look forward to working with your loved ones in 2019.

Each year, many residents and staff share their talents with Intermissions. With that in mind, we’d like to extend an open invitation to any residents or staff who would like to share their skills with us. Whether your talent is in the creative or culinary arts, or if you have pictures from travels home or abroad, we would love to have you visit our group and share your experiences with us.

As we embark on our sixth year, look for more updates and articles from Intermissions as we share our many enjoyable experiences with the community.

If you have a loved one who would benefit from our program, or if you would like more information about the Intermissions Program, please contact Rita Clarke at 301-572-8313, or via email at
