Changes announced to Home Support minimums

By Maureen Amuso

Manager, Riderwood Home Support

For over 15 years Riderwood Home Support has provided private duty nursing and companion care to residents needing some extra help. Recently, we have updated our caregiver uniforms to royal blue polo shirts for our nursing assistants and royal purple for our nurses with black, khaki or navy blue slacks. We have received rave reviews from both staff and residents!

RWV Home Support prides itself on delivering the highest quality home support services at all times. Throughout the past few months the Home Support team has evaluated the services rendered to our residents and the time it takes to complete each one of them. During this process we have noted opportunities to enhance our services to our customers. Our home support competitor’s service offerings were also reviewed to ensure we remain reasonable in our price and hourly options – many of them have minimums of three and four hours.

The outcome of this quality initiative has resulted in an agency practice change, converting from a one-hour visit minimum to a two-hour visit minimum, which will be effective January 1, 2019. The agency will continue to offer wheelchair escorts, medication reminders, and meal delivery services as we always have.

Our high standards of vetting and hiring caregiving staff remains strong, and we agree that  knowing “who” is helping our residents is an important consideration when choosing a home care service. We hope that you continue to look to Riderwood’s Home Support services when you have a need now or in the future.
