The Staff Appreciation Fund (SAF) drive is continuing until November 10, but I hope you have written your check and placed it in the Philanthropy slot at your front desk. Have you enjoyed the SAF displays in the club houses? Here are some of the Riderwood staff members who will benefit from the fund:

• Tracy Fowlkes is in the Lakeside Fitness Center and has been at Riderwood for 10 years. Tracy enjoys working with the residents and encouraging them to exercise for fun and for their health and longevity. She likes hiking, visiting museums and arts and crafts fairs.

• Across the hall in the TV Studio is Courtney Coombs who has only been at Riderwood a short time. Her job is to help with the programs the TV studio produces. She likes to read and travel but TV production is her passion.

• Veronica Leiva at Village Square Front Desk has been at that job for seven years but at Riderwood for 16. At age 14 she began as a server/host at Windsor and Wye Oak Pub. Veronica enjoys cooking with her 12-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son, the beach, hiking and summer.

• Eric Underwood works with Maintenance and has been here two years.  He likes to spend time with his 4-year-old son when he is not working. Our maintenance people do a great job of repairing things in our apartments, and isn’t it nice not to have to try to get a repair person in an emergency.

These are a few of our trusted employees who all feel that they were appreciated by the residents, who like working at Riderwood and appreciate the extra cash in December. If you haven’t already done so, get your checkbook out and write one to Riderwood with Staff Appreciation Fund in the memo line. Thank you, and don’t forget to smile.
