College Park resident Lee Havis, candidate for the Maryland State Senate, will address the Republican Club at their meeting at 2:30 p.m. on September 6, 2018, in the Village Square music room. All are welcome to attend.

Mr. Havis, age 74, will compete in the November 6 Maryland State Senate election against incumbent Democrat Jim Rosapepe to represent Maryland Senate District 21. District 21 includes the portion of Riderwood that lies within Prince George’s County.

An educator with advanced degrees in multiple fields of study, Havis considers excessive governmental spending and the heavy tax burden it drives to be chief among the problems of our state government. He proposes to work toward decentralization of control of public education and reduction of administrative costs at all levels.
