National Orchestral Institute returns to Riderwood June 10

By Margaret Hays
Producer, Performing Arts Council

For the last several years Riderwood has been privileged to host chamber music recitals presented by participants in the National Orchestral Institute at the University of Maryland. These young musicians are chosen through nationwide competitive auditions, and the orchestra is led by renowned conductors. These are the future music makers of the country and perform with great musical skill and charming enthusiasm.

This year the concert will be held in the Riderwood Chapel on Sunday, June 10, at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free – no tickets required. Set aside the date now for a lovely evening of music. Also, see the Special Trips schedule for an opportunity to attend a performance of the whole orchestra at the University of Maryland.
