Riderwood residents now have access to Shingrex Suspension, the new vaccine designed to prevent shingles and a recurrence of shingles. The vaccine is administered in two intramuscular injections. You can obtain a prescription from your Medical Center provider. The prescription will be for one dose of vaccine, plus a refill to complete the course of administration. As with any medication that you take, your Medicare Part D plan will cover part of the cost. When you obtain a prescription from your physician, call Jennifer at our CVS pharmacy in Village Square at 301-572-8470 to make appointments for the two injections. The appointments are necessary to ensure that both Jennifer and the vaccine are at the pharmacy.
