Because of the sold-out success of their first show in January, when Riderwood’s Entertainment Presenters planned their second annual Riderwood’s Got Talent resident and staff variety show, they creatively scheduled two early February presentations – a matinee and evening.
What they didn’t anticipate was that they would need a new “Talent” — flexibility. This new requirement emerged as their “best-laid plans got swept awry” (virtually flushed) as the campus-wide GI prevention shutdown cancelled their rehearsals. It also appeared that the shutdown might not be over by the planned February dates, which led to a search for two consecutive days in March in which the Encore theatre was not already booked.
Believing the show must go on, they even considered reducing the planned two shows to one… and then were relieved to find two close (but not consecutive) days.
So now look forward to the “Sentimental Journey” that will be offered in the Encore on Thursday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m., and again on Saturday, March 10, at 2 p.m.
You still can expect to see plenty of great acts – including music from jazz to classical, dance, and even a political speech from another era (fortunately).
$5 tickets will be on sale outside the dining rooms in each of the Village centers on March 5 and 6 from 4 to 6pm. (And due to anticipated demand, first come, first served.)
And once again this Riderwood Entertainment Presenters event will benefit the Benevolent Care Fund.
