On Sunday December 3, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. the Performing Arts Council is sponsoring the annual Winter Concert by the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra. This will be the 12th year that Riderwood welcomes this concert of classical music by the orchestra. The program will include the Brahms Emperor Waltzes and other classical selections.
The Montgomery Symphony Orchestra is an all-volunteer orchestra whose programs and
activities include performances throughout Montgomery County and community outreach and service at local events in the area.
The orchestra currently has 55 musicians led by Blair Skinner, music director and conductor. Mr. Skinner is currently a PhD candidate in conducting at Peabody School, Johns Hopkins University. He was selected to be the conductor of this concert from a slate of 34 candidates. The orchestra is excited about the opportunity to perform with him.
$5.00 tickets will be on sale from 4:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m., November 27 and 28 in all dining room lobbies. This concert is usually sold out on the first day of ticket sales, and there are seldom tickets available at the door on the day of the concert. Please plan accordingly.
