The Arts Council of Riderwood is announcing plans for the first of three 2017 exhibits. Residents and Riderwood staff are invited to the first exhibit that will open with a wine and cheese reception on Friday, March 10 at 2 pm outside the Encore Theater at Lakeside Commons. The initial selections for display will remain at Lakeside Commons until early June, at which point, the display will move to Montgomery Station until September, and then be displayed at Village Square until December. Artwork will be on display for nine months. New work will be selected for the 2017 rotation in June and September. Due to planned construction at Town Center, this clubhouse will not be part of the 2017 exhibit schedule.
At Lakeside Commons, all forms of wall art will be displayed near the Encore Theater and in the Overlook dining room. Three-dimensional work will be displayed in the cabinet in the lobby near the television. Display areas at Montgomery Station and Village Square are being readied for June and September exhibits.
Artists can apply to have their work considered by an anonymous non-resident juror. Up to three pieces per artist will be considered for selection on March 2. Artists or their surrogates will be advised whether their work was selected when they come to collect their work later that day.
Check RiderwoodLife.org, Arts Council of Riderwood for the application, schedules, and plans or pick up an application package at your front desk after Monday, February 13. The package includes an application, a release of liability, and a timeline outlining the application and selection process.
